Un poco de historia sobre el abandono de la mansión: El siglo XIX y XX, el hambre y las pocas espectativas de futuro, obligaron a muchos españoles a cruzar el charco. Algunos crearon mucha riqueza, y al regresar a España mostraban su nuevo y ostentoso modo de vida, rodeado de lujos y grandes mansiones. Se desconocen los motivos por los cuales se abandonó, pero según nos informó un lugareño, por motivos de herencia. En los años 1990 y 2000 se propuso hacer un complejo hotelero y residencial de lujo de la mano de una promotora. Se preveia construir hoteles de 4 y 5 estrellas, de unas 60 habitaciones y recuperar antiguas edificaciones y las piscinas. Las superficie totales del hotel serían de unos 400 m2 por planta, y pretendía crear riqueza y turismo a toda la zona. Por suerte, o por desgracia, la promotora no superó los duros trámites urbanisticos, y la idea quedó en un simple borrador. Meses más tarde, una cadena norteamerica de hoteles pretendía hacerse con el complejo y gestionar un complejo hotelero para acoger convenciones y reuniones de trabajo. Además, se pretendía construir unas12 casas de estilo colonial y un hotel de 60 habitaciones para poblar los 65.000 metros cuadrados de la finca. Tras varios cambios que nunca acabaron en una buena solución para que la finca recobrase vida, finalmente se dejó a su suerte, y la promotora se disolvió.
